We were all anticipating new MacBook Pros w/ an updated version of Apple’s M1 CPU. But we now have more details to give us a better idea on exactly what to expect. Get ready for a new 14inch & 16inch MacBook Pro but there’s more to it than just that.
The new MacBooks are said to offer squared-off sides to align w/ the iPhone 12 + iPad Pro design language. The new laptops will offer a several new thing s as well like new brighter, higher contrast displays, a new heat pipe system from the current 16inch model to offer better thermal ventilation & giving you better overall performance, the removable of the Touchbar to bring the return of the physical top-row keys, the return of the MagSafe magnetic charging port, and the return of more ports.
Now exactly what ports aren’t mentioned but if Kuo suggests no longer needing a dongle, we can assume that at least the return of the SD card slot & maybe the HDMI port. And don’t look for Intel options for these as Apple is going all-in on their ARM-based M chipsets. This info is based off a report from analyst + Apple specialist Ming-Chi Kuo & corroborated by others.
So for those of you who’re interested in the M1-powered Macbooks but wanted a bigger size, your time is coming later this year – allegedly.
