After a long weekend, Apple sent out invites for their annual iPhone event yesterday. The event is set for September 14th at 10AM PST/1PM EST online. This will be for the iPhone 13 lineup as well as the Apple Watch Series 7, and possibly updated iPads like the iPad Mini.

As far as what to expect for the 2021 iPhone, expect a mild refresh w/ a few new features + updates. We’re anticipating a smaller notch on the front, an always-on display w/ 120Hz refresh rate for the Pro models, newer A15 CPU, bigger battery, better cameras across the board w/ better stabilization, and a rumored satellite call support for emergency use cases. All while keeping the same sizes of 5.4inches for the 13 Mini, 6.1inch for the 13 + 13 Pro, and 6.7inch for 13 Pro Max.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is set to get slightly larger w/ a 41mm & 45mm screen sizes w/ flatter edges, redesigned cases, & improved internals. We don’t have much intel on the new iPads but the Mini will get a much-needed update to catch up w/ the rest of the lineup. And we might get the long-awaited new AirPods 3 & Pro earbuds as well. I don’t expect it here but we will get new 14inch + 16inch MacBooks running 2nd-gen M1 CPUs. We’ll probably get them during a separate event this fall.

Anyone looking to upgrade this year or gonna wait and see?
