We already informed you about the upcoming Siri update, part of Apple’s partnership with Google. Apparently, Apple’s integration of Google’s AI Assistant has been quickly implemented and is nearly ready to showcase.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple will unveil the new Siri in the second half of February. The merging of the two companies is expected to turn Siri into an AI chatbot—similar to ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Claude—that can handle conversational interactions. Gurman indicates that the assistant can incorporate personal data and on-screen content for tasks.
Apple couldn’t make Siri competitive with Gemini or ChatGPT. Interestingly, Apple announced a new Siri at WWDC 2024, but it has since been delayed. Since Apple couldn’t build it alone, they partnered with others to reach the goal.
The new chatbot will be available in the beta version of iOS 26.4, expected to launch in March or early April. Apple is also planning to announce the updated Siri at WWDC later this summer. After the new Siri, we’ll see additional Apple Intelligence features powered by Gemini. These new AI features are expected to be included with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, with beta versions launching this summer.
