Yup, the rumors were true. Samsung just announced its newest foldable: the Galaxy Z TriFold. So what makes this foldable so different, one might ask? It folds 3x, opens up to a larger 10-inch screen, and supports Samsung’s DeX, which provides a desktop computer-like experience.
The TriFold weighs 309 grams and measures 12.9mm thick when folded. So it’s thin but not Z Fold 7 thin, which is only 8.9mm. The back panel is made from a ceramic-glass fiber-reinforced polymer to combat cracks and other damage. It also has two dual-rail design hinges with titanium housing. Unfortunately, it retains the same IP48 rating as Samsung’s other foldables, which can handle water but not dust.
The TriFold’s outer screen is a 6.5-inch 1080p display with 2,600 nits of brightness, which is similar to the one on the Z Fold 7, and its inner screen opens up to a 10-inch 120 Hz display with 2160 x 1584 resolution and 1,600 nits of peak brightness. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, runs Android 16 with One UI 8, and has a 5,600 mAh battery. On the rear, you still have a triple camera setup with a 200MP main wide sensor, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP 3x telephoto. The cover and inner screen come equipped with dual 10MP selfie cameras.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will only come in one color, black, and will include 6 months of Google AI Pro for free, which includes access to Veo3, Google’s AI-video creation app, and 2 TB of storage via Google Drive. It’s slated to arrive in Korea on December 12, and here in the US sometime in Q1 of 2026.
Yup! Exciting times await us in the near future.
