Microsoft is adding a new feature to its section of Office 365 Education just in time for the upcoming school year. Introducing Microsoft Classroom: an app where teachers can manage everything from lesson plans to assignments. Students can post questions, collaborate w/ study groups, and access materials – all in one place.
Consider it more of a homepage to organize several class sections, create/grade assignments, provide feedback to students and even collaborate w/ other teachers in PLCs (Professional Learning Communities). Sway is an interesting app all can utilize as it is a more creative/simplified version of PowerPoint. It will be useful for presentations & interactive class materials.
The OneClass Notebook can utilize handwritten notes, sketches, typing, photos, videos, voice, and links. Teachers can chime in w/ feedback along the way as well. Students will be able to collab on Office Online, Office desktop, & Office Mobile. Teachers can utilize Microsoft Forms to create surveys, quizzes, and much more.
For IT admins, you can begin setting it up soon as it will be completely free. Hit the link below to get a preview and get started.
